Multi Handle Ferrule enables you to make your own custom shaped handles and interchange gouges between them, or simply remove the gouge from a long handle for easier sharpening. Available in 10.5mm 13.5mm and 16.5mm with 2 grub screws on each to take the most common gouge sizes.

Multi Handle Ferrule is made by Alex of Ash-Wood Components in Gloucestershire UK, designed and tested in collaboration with Pete of Twisted Trees.
It is turned from Aluminium bar to keep the weight down and allow for a nicely balanced handle. Tested while wearing full protective gear using a thin handle and getting deliberate catches at 3000rpm which should far exceed anything a sane person would do.
The internal section is slightly oversize from the standard metric Forstner bits so that they are designed to be a tight glue free press fit, if you do not like this method, a slight bit of sanding after drilling will enable a loose fit that you can use epoxy glue to secure it.

- With a long handle it can get in the way when sharpening, simply drop the tool from the handle and life gets easier.
- Transporting tools to a club or demonstration, put the sharp end inside the handle to protect it.
